Otoboku chapter 18 released

*Sigh* This chapter was supposed to be released a week ago, but one of our proofreader who is in charge of checking the lines in Early Modern English, has been busy for something I have no idea about. As a result, we are releasing the chapter since there is no guarantee when he'll be back and finish his task. I have read some materials on EME, checked the play part again and again, and fixed all errors I could find, so I think it's pretty much okay to read now. We'll release a v2 if Avery or any of you can find anything else to fix, though.

Sorry for the long delay btw. Even I, as the group leader, has been busy with all kind of IRL crap lately. I will graduate from university in July, so the schedule is pretty much tightened. I'll try to finish my job on Otoboku as quickly as possible, although I'll be taking exams on 6, 10 and 13 of May.

Regarding OxM, I'm trying to push our typesetter to work more quickly, but there's no guarantee for a release any time soon. More information will be updated as soon as I receive feedback from BakaGrappler.

Also, I'm doing freelance translation for a new series on my personal blog, so if any group is interested, feel free to use my translations to scanlate the series. I have also provided raw with maximum quality on the site. McDonald already has enough projects to work on, so we are not picking this difficult-to-typeset-as-fuck manga.

Hatsudora Joint Drama & Countdown pack 1

Actually I planned on releasing this 2 weeks ago, but it got delayed for two reasons. First, Macurai's Internet turned shitty, making him unable to go online for more than 10 days. Second, I'm currently on my internship period (just finished my first week), so it's literally sucking pretty much of my time, although I must admit that the working environment is relaxing and very friendly (plus I can torrent while translating stuff for the department I'm working for).

As for the releases this time, aside from Macurai, I really thank Avery for helping me edit the subs. Translating these videos were not difficult, but the Hatsuyuki Sakura part was quite annoying to me. I feel like Visual Art's and SAGA PLANETS used up their budget for art and music (yeah they got fripSide and I've Sound for the OPs), and thus couldn't afford some decent voice actresses. Doing crossover with Yuzusoft's Dracu-Riot! only made me see how horrible Hatsuyuki Sakura's voice acting is, since the VAs for DR did a great job with their roles.

Anyway, enough ranting. Enjoy the releases while waiting for more Otoboku.

Macurai's lateness due to bad Internet connection turned out to be a good thing. Thanks to that, I had time to find some HQ raws on Holyseal, and worked with PhD to do a v2 with better quality, although it's much heavier. I know this is pretty late since Mera's character song CD came out 3 days ago, but never mind. Vol.3 CM and some short dramas are now on the way.

Happy Lunar New Year with Otoboku chapter 17

Actually we were supposed to release this yesterday since it was the first day of the Tet holiday, the biggest traditional celebration of my country. However, we had to delay the release due to computer problems. It's really annoying when the only PC with Internet connection in my PC is the most screwed up. My old man has just temporarily "fixed" it, but no one can tell when it will go nuts again.

Anyway, as we promised, here's chapter 17 of the manga adaptation of the legendary trap eroge. The last 4 chapters have also been translated long ago, but the typesetting is still in progress. Judging how the PCs in my house are, I cannot promise anything about the speed. Besides, unlike wow!scans, we have been a slow group for years, so you should expect slow release.

Regarding IchiHei, I know that many of you on mangafox and animesuki have been waiting, and we've been working on chapter 5, but it won't be fast since we are focusing on finishing Otoboku first. After that we'll try to push IchiHei and Otoboku 2 (3 volumes in total) out faster. For now enjoy the release, and Happy New Year to you all.

Dracu-Riot! Character Song Vol.1 CM

Just some stuff I did with Macurai to relax. Sorry to disappoint you fans of Otoboku and IchiHei. I have Otoboku chapter 17 and IchiHei chapter 5 pending for QC, but right now I still have 2 fucking subjects left for my final exam. I have to concentrate on reviewing or I won't get a scholarship this time. My exam will end on Jan 14, and then I'll have 3 weeks to do scanlation again. Meanwhile, take your time reading other stuff.

P/S : The source file is from Youtube, so the quality kinda sucks. We have experimented to denoise to achieve better quality, but it's not worth since the filesize skyrocketed with little quality gained, so we decided to mux the source file directly with the subs. Well, not that it matters anyway.

Project updates

After an unexpected turn of events, we have decided to resume Porfy no Nagai Tabi. This time it will be a joint with Licca Fansubs as announced on their blog. There are a few reasons for this :

1. I'm occupied with translating, fixing typesetting, and doing QCing for our manga projects.
2. Translating 2 versions by myself is really boring.
3. Licca can translate much faster than we do.
4. Most of our fansub staff members don't have much time to spend on fansubbing like before. ManiacDC has his job, and I'm now a senior in university while spending 3 hours a day learning Japanese. Other members have their own IRL stuff to do as well.

Basically, joining hands with another group will give us advantages and motivation to continue with the series. In this case it will be done in a pretty unusual ways, since each group will work at its own pace and release different versions. If you want hardsubs or faster speed, visit Licca's blog. If you need English softsubs or Vietnamese subs, here is the place you'll get them.

This time we will have more members for the project in order to boost the speed. The tasks will be divided as follow :
- Vietnamese translation : tuandatle
- Vietnamese editing & scene timing : me (I updated my Aegisub for this purpose)
- English editing : probably Mignonette, since he's our fastest editor. Anyone who is interested is welcomed for the position.
- Encoding and QCing : ManiacDC

Another series we will be doing is Otoboku 1. As some people may have read wow!scans's blog, Yamada has agreed to transfer the project to us. I have already finished my translations for the remaining chapters a month ago, but editing and typesetting take time. We will not release quickly, but a chapter a month should be okay.
